Long Beaked Common Dolphins are not typically seen in the Monterey Bay. However because of the increased water temperature we have had for the past year, we have been seeing them almost daily.
They like to come over to the boat and ride in the push at the bow that is created as we move through the water. This behavior is called bow riding. They are very playful and can often be seen leaping through the air, just as this one is shown, and surfing our wake. Dolphins swim constantly and for fun, swim faster.
They are called common dolphins because they are the most common dolphin on the planet
