Two humpbacks lunge through a school of anchovies. Opening their mouths, expanding their ventral pleats these amazing mammals surge through the water taking in an estimated 500 gallons of seawater and fish. They contract their ventral throat pleats forcing the water to filter through the fibrous baleen that traps their catch.
