This large humpback breached towards fairly close to us. Had it been any close I would not have been able to get it in the frame. Humpbacks have the longest pectoral fins of all whales, even longer than the blue whale. It is not known why humpbacks breach, there is a lot of speculation as to the reasons, I am THRILLED that they do!

It felt like he was coming right at us..He was far enough away, but typically they don't breach in our direction. He was putting on quite the show that morning with repetitive breaching.
